Ski? Snowboard? Want to try? Don’t have your own equipment? Do you love fun? Not a problem!
Basics: Ski Week (a legendary week of skiing, snowboarding, and intense fun) is held every year at Jay Peak, VT during the last week of winter break. It’s open to anyone at Wesleyan, and it doesn’t matter if you’ve never skied or snowboarded before. If you can get yourself to Wesleyan about a week before classes start, we’ll get you a ride. About 60 people go each year.
Details: Jay Peak receives the most snowfall in the East, which means more powder and less man-made stuff. Fabled for its glade skiing, in addition to their extreme terrain off the summit, Jay Peak offers several excellent cruising and mogul runs as well as ample beginner terrain. Equipment can be rented at the mountain. No one will be bored here!
The entire group stays at Grampa Grunts Lodge, which is located in Montgomery Center, VT. It is a five minute drive from Jay Peak, and within walking distance of a few pubs and a general store. A spacious sauna is located on the first floor. The lodge also has a large common area to cater to all of our après skiing needs as well as a hearty breakfast served made-to-order every morning.
It’s seriously the time of your life.
